Description
A Right Bank Bordeaux-style blend comprising Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Merlot (30%) and Cabernet Franc (20%), with a southern Hungarian twist. The vineyards around the town of the Siklós sub-region from where the grapes for this wine come are high in limestone which helps preserve the acidity to balance the wine’s natural southern ripeness. Fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks at 28-30° C, then aged in Hungarian barriques and double-barriques for 22 months. Deep dark ruby colour. Intense aromas and flavours of sweet spices, black truffles, mocha, dark chocolate, ripe blackberries and cassis. Full-bodied with a velvety structure, vibrant acidity, great balance and serious length. A powerful yet elegant wine from an outstanding vintage. Winner of a Gold medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2016 and also chosen for events held by major Hungarian Embassies. A great partner with red meat dishes. The winery is owned by a German-Swiss couple, Erhard & Evelyne Heumann, while the winemaker, András Theisz, is Hungarian.
