Description
This is just the second vintage from this young winery in Eger (the first one promptly sold out, to the disappointment of many). The brother-sister pair, Boglárka and Gergő Böjt, make a fantastic winemaking team. This deep blue-colored wine shows lots of bramble and blackberries, and it is spicy, bright, mineralic, and has delightful freshness. Bikavér (Bull’s Blood) is the region’s flagship blend, and it has been making a comeback in recent years after having its reputation trashed during the Communist era. This style is a welcome reflection of the youth of the winemakers, and is the polar opposite of the more traditional Bull’s Blood styles. This is a blend of Kékfrankos, Blauburger, and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a touch of Zweigelt. It is a fantastic value, and we hope many more vintages will follow.
