Description
Legendary British wine critic Michael Broadbent MW, declared that: “Cabernet Franc has found its natural home in Villány, and this wine shows just why. The vineyards around the town of the Siklós sub-region from where the grapes for this wine come are high in limestone which helps preserve the acidity to balance the wine’s natural southern ripeness. Aged in Hungarian barriques for 22 months. Intense but not overpowering aromas of red and black fruit, plus vanilla, green herbs and winter spices on the nose. Juicy and concentrated on the palate with blackberries and cassis plus a hint of dark chocolate. A full-bodied yet elegant, fruity, balanced and complex wine with smooth tannins and a very long aftertaste. The ideal partner for red meat and game. Chosen in 2017 as best Cabernet Franc to be served at events of the Hungarian Parliament and rated the fifth best red wine of the Top 100 Hungarian wines. The winery is owned by a German-Swiss couple, Erhard & Evelyne Heumann, while the winemaker, András Theisz, is Hungarian.
