Description
A full-bodied, über concentrated yet very classy ‘Villányi Franc’ from an exciting and relative newcomer to the region. Cabernet Franc has been recognized as being capable of greatness in Villány by leading wine experts, and in particular the legendary British wine critic Michael Broadbent MW, who proclaimed that: “Cabernet Franc has found its natural home in Villány.” This winner of a gold medal at the 2016 edition of the Villány wine competition is a prime example. Pronounced aromas of ripe black and red fruit, blackberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, merging with a nice touch of vanilla from the barrel, as well as tertiary notes of tobacco, autumn leaves, lavender, plums and prunes. It strikes a great balance between vibrant fruit and age. The oak is beautifully integrated and supports the wine’s intense fruit and body, while the tannins are silky smooth and bring about a long and elegant finish. A great choice with game and red meat dishes.
