Description

Egri Csillag is essentially the white equivalent of the Bikavér (Bull’s Blood) blend, and it debuted as recently as the 2010 vintage. This very popular Egri Csillag is a blend of Olaszrizling, Sauvignon Blanc, Leányka and Muscat Ottonel, with no one grape supposed to dominate, and the result here is indeed greater than the sum of the parts. Egri Csillag must be composed of at least 50% of the Carpathian basin grape varieties, while aromatic varieties are limited to a maximum of 30%. This Egri Csillag is from the so-called ‘Classic’ category and is accordingly made solely in stainless steel tanks without exposure to oxygen to maintain the freshness, crispiness and fruitiness. Vibrant green apple, pear, peach, fresh cut grass aromas and flavors, with a zesty, dry, citrusy palate. Light, fruity and very refreshing. Great drinkability. Ideal by itself but also good with salads, pasta and poultry dishes.
