Description

A family winery with 15 hectares of vineyards whereby the wine is made by Gergely Posta and sold by his brother Péter. The vines, which are only sprayed with natural treatments, such as copper, sulphur and orange oil, are located on the top of a hill. There they get sun exposure from both sides to aid ripening but there is usually a cooling breeze blowing, which helps preserve acidity in the grapes and prevents the wine from being too cooked and overripe – which is vital to avoid in the case of the fragile Kadarka grape. Pale ruby colour, distinctive aromas of rose hip, raspberry, strawberries, anise, green herbs and eastern spices. Lively palate with tongue tingling acidity, yet very light in terms of tannins and body. Comparable to a Beaujolais Cru, though some also call Kadarka the ‘Hungarian Pinot Noir’. Ideal on its own or with spicy dishes.
